Day 6: Jaipur to Jammu & Katra (Flight or Train)

  • Afternoon: Arrive in Jammu and transfer to Katra, the base town for the Vaishno Devi pilgrimage (approx. 2-hour drive).
  • Evening: Rest and prepare for the pilgrimage. Overnight in Katra.
  • Morning:
    • After an early breakfast, begin the pilgrimage to Mata Vaishno Devi.
    • The journey involves a trek of about 12 kilometers from Katra to the Bhavan (the shrine), located at an elevation of around 5,200 feet. The trek can be done on foot, or you can opt for horseback or palanquin services if desired.
    • Along the way, enjoy beautiful views of the Trikuta Mountain Range.
  • Afternoon: Arrive at the Vaishno Devi Temple, one of the holiest Hindu temples dedicated to Goddess Vaishno Devi. The temple is visited by millions of devotees every year.
    • Inside the temple, worship at the holy cave where the Goddess is believed to reside.
